      ...Adolescence is fragile...
There is a BIG difference between a 5th grader and an 8th grader and the years in between can be a roller coaster of physical and emotional changes making middle school a challenge!  We understand that and do our best provide a safe environment, to nurture our students, and encourage growth through numerous in school and after school opportunities.   A student who is active and involved within their school community has a sense of belonging and tends to do better academically and socially.  Middle school students may choose from the following:  Outdoor Adventure Club (ODAC), Outreach, Volleyball, Track, Football, Football, CrossCountry, Drama Club, Basketball, Wrestling, Lunch Groups, After school tutoring, Support Groups, Cheerleading, Choir, Band, and Jazz Band.
    Upcoming Events
Bully lessons for 6th graders began Monday, March 12th
On Monday, April 9th, 8th graders will be importing their high school schedules into the computer with Mr. Bialik and Mrs. Gleason ( HS secretary )
Friday, April 27th is the annual 8th grade high school visitation.  This year the visit will be from 9:30 to ll:50 with lunch being served before buses transport the class back to the middle school.  There will  be a general meeting in the high school commons at 9:30 and then the students will rotate among multiple 'centers' where they have a chance to ask questions, learn about the lunch program, extracurricular programs, the counseling department, and graduation requirements.
The EXPLORE results are back and should be coming home with the students this week.  Mrs. Schnack and Mrs. Jankewicz have been going over the scores and data with their 8th and 7th grade classes respectively to help the students understand what the data means with respect to their career interests and academic goals.
